#5 Neuchâtel castle, Switzerland
The castle was built at the end of the 10th century, Rudolf, the King of Budgund, built for his wife as a gift. The generous gift was named after the city, the lake, and later the Swiss canton, where the castle is located. The castle, which was rebuilt in the 15th and 17th centuries, is now the headquarters of the deans and courts of the cantons.
