#4 Guaita fortress, San Marino
The Guaita fortress overlooks the town of San Marino and is the emblematic symbol of the micro-state in Italy. The fortress served as a building and a prison also in the 11th century. One of Guaita’s Three Torrents in San Marino is located on one of the three summits of Monte Titano. The towers are also visible on the national flag and crest of San Marino.
