#7 Corfe castle, England
Only ruins remained from the Corfe Castle, however the fortress still gives a stunning view. Located in Dorset County, on Purbeck Island, and its history dates back to the 9th century, although it was allegedly built long ago and was part of the Romans’ defense line. The remaining and still visible parts were built in the 11th century and two centuries later the fortress served as a royal treasury and as a prison.
