#12 GR10
The GR10 tour route starts ont he northern part of the Pyrenees and goes through the whole mountain chain from the Atlantic ocean till the Mediterranean seashore. It crosses France, Andorra and Spain too. The facade of the whole trip is high-altitude, Alpine, at sometimes with pictorial villages. Along the trip we can find accommodation in mountain houses, where if there is a kitchen, it is worth to stay to try the local specialties. It is not an easy trip, because the daily distances that must be taken include high falls. All together the fall is 48.000 meters on the 866 km long trip. One of the most beautiful part of the route is a 130 km long part, that includes the wonderful pyramid shaped Pic D’Anie peak above the Pas d’Azuns pass, and the village is Lescun that is the most beautiful village in the Pyrenees.
Along the beautiful natural sights, we can find many historical monuments as well. Among others, we can find a footpath that was made in the 18th century, that was made by woodsmen when they had cut trees for building ships, to build the french battle-fleet. It is an advantage that the Pyrenees relative altitude is not too high, its highest peak is only around 2400 meters, so there is no need for upland acclimatization.
