It is a less known and popular route to climb the Himalaya from the Indian side. Ladakh or the so-called Little Tibet is a less popular region in tourism, even though it is located on the world’s highest mountain. However, this area’s peaks are no higher than 8000 meters, but the untouched cultural world compensates us. Throughout the trip we can see the places used for meditation, the so-called zanglai gompa, monasteries that were built on cliffs and special shrines. We can see yaks and nomads, get to know the traditional way of dressing up and the traditions. The trip is worth taking in the Himachal Pradesh region where we can hike for 24 days between Spiti and Ladakh. This especially long and hard trip follows an ancient mercantile route.
