Himeji Castle, also known as the White Hedge Castle, is named after its stunning white exterior. The complex consists of 83 wooden buildings. One of the most distinctive elements of the castle’s defense is the labyrinth of the roads leading to the central bastion. Gates and walls are designed to force intruders into a spiral route with lots of traps and deadlocks. Originally was built in the 15th century and located in the Kansai region of Japan.
