A Saudi Driver Takes A Selfie On Two Wheels

Sidewall skiing is exactly what it sounds like: driving a car balanced on two wheels while it continues down the road. It emerged in Saudi Arabia as a street subculture, and it is both extraordinarily dangerous and extremely illegal. This photograph catches a driver mid manoeuvre, casually holding up a phone for a selfie while the vehicle rides tilted on its side. The composition works because of how relaxed everyone in the frame appears, as though this were an ordinary commute. Whatever you think of the practice, the photographer was in the right place with the right shutter speed, and the result is genuinely arresting.
